Memories can be the dreams and nightmares that hurt. They can cause harm. A misinterpretation of the imagery, symbolism, and unknown in your unconscious past is easily an enemy of the state for the present. Should the future be meaningful, these elements are only wise for navigating the lessons learned. However, unlearning and trying are the common factors preventing us from falling victim to previous fantasies and lived experiences.
The spiritual zombie of the past lust–with its deep roots in ill-witted euphoria, is not tempting enough for one’s consideration towards its unlearning. Releasing the calming fetish of touch, hormonic rewriting of logic, or tangentially massaging mental depreciation are weapons in warfare for mastering prudence.
Fearing a resurfacing of lucidity torn into darkness can hinder hope if one does not challenge the unlearning of their fears coupled with the need to try. Trying is vulnerability. Stretching is not fearing. There is value in reimagining narratives. Trying is consistently praying. Trying is doing while being.
One must recognize that this is accepting what is in front of you. It is acknowledging the unknown while accepting the possibility and inevitability as a dream and a nightmare–one you can live with and one you must add to your navigation toolkit. These things allow faith, hope, and charity to shine in the black and white structures and the gray areas or unknown called dreams, realities, internal monologues, or joint nuances.
While this narrative is implicitly reimagining things of the past, personal, social, and some internal, there are still explicit takes-aways:
- Live beyond those memories in the forms of dreams and nightmares that are not progressive.
- If you find yourself in a space where you see a memory reliving, become the author and illustrator, not just a character. Co-authoring or joint illustrating is not bad because you are now creating the content and imagery.
- Balance all sides of you as a guide for unlearning and not reliving.
- Your dream may be another person’s nightmare. Automatic inclusion through association, without intentional alignment or permission, is unjust to their journey.
- One must use their spiritual eye, physical eye, and mental or emotional prius.
- Unlearning is a possibility when cooperative with trying. Can one successfully unlearn without having to try again?
- Dreams and nightmares only craft your reality if you allow them. Once unaware, now awaken, act.
