By design–God gave us our vital organs to engineer the physical process of our lives. Daily, these machines contribute to our ability to think, move, feel, hear, and see. The marvel behind God’s work is still beyond the comprehension of science.
Most intriguing is the intangibility associated with the sensations of our organs. One can only be led to think about the fusing, balancing, and fighting of the mind and heart. Two of our most valued possessions–both with different functions. Comparably, it reminds us of the soul and spirit. Both ethereal and mystical, without the ability to grasp them.
Interpolation versus extrapolation in science. But what about the real world? How do we define it beyond our exploration? Despite the self-help, think pieces, and accounts of healers. Nothing is finite in this (but God for us believers).
In retrospect, of these, the heart is the most interesting. But the mind is the most dangerous. Physically, the heart is an organ consisting of three chambers that pump blood throughout our body. It connects our circulatory system, as its primary function, to the rest of the body.
But… that is not the heart that interests me. By definition, heart is the emotional or moral nature distinguished from the intellectual nature. A similar definition defines it as one’s innermost character, feelings, or inclinations.
Symbolically, the heart is physically and intangibly interconnected. The physical being is the follower of life. The non-physical is an intricate interconnection of intimacy that can amplify its way into our spirit and soul.
Matters of the heart impact all organs and the rest of the intangible functions of life. Sometimes, it pushes you beyond the guidance of your mind. Other times, it softens you through empathy or sympathy. People question their minds, playing tricks on them. But have we ever stopped to think about our hearts mindlessly taking the lead?
Sensations of emotion and pleasure yield the opportunity for the heart to exceed the mind in the leadership of the person. Of the two, the heart is the weakest. So easily broken. More time to recover. Less strategic in its attachment and connections. Why does it take the forefront?
A different perspective on the dangers of the heart should lead us to caution. But, the trickery of sentiment, humanity, and all things feeling clouts the intellectual capacity of the physical and essence of the mind. Has it not hurt you too? Were you not left stranded because of it? Time after time, experience after experience; does it compare to the wins that your mind has afforded?
With so much more to say and expound on, a straight shot to the heart may be what is best. To keep the mind from wandering, impacting the body and being, one must die to the id. Rather you your heart? Or your mind?
Consider being the ice queen or the demented. These are the simple character options to understand how you must protect one over the other–with the adverse impact of protecting yourself.
“You can break my heart, but you can’t break my soul. The heart is the body, but my being is my soul. It goes back to God.” – LVE
