Vision and sacrifice are two things, that I now acknowledge go hand in hand. Recently, I allowed Courage by Pink and the version Courage to Change by Sia to challenge me going forward. Over the past week, I decided to rededicate myself to back to Christ and try my best to stay on this walk.

It came with vision and sacrifice.

The intention behind the word vision is clear. Some may think of it as foreseeing direction. Which it is. Others may see it as discernment beyond the naked eye. That it is too. Others may see it as simply a sight. And it’s that too. Coupled together, those things are a vision for me. But I dream dreams that I feel and must interpret. Dreams that I must pray for clarity on. Those are the visions.

Recently, I quoted a scene from House of the Dragon where the Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen stated

“Exhausting wasn’t it? hiding beneath the cloak of your own righteousness? But now they see you as you are.”

In that moment this thought surpassed my vision of people–speaking to an ethereal room.

Days later, two dreams come, speaking to what I see from another house of cards caving in. Vision in this instant didn’t allow me to feel. Only to observe. What it did do, was connect me to sacrifice.

Giving up (letting go) for the sake of consideration is sacrifice. But also, a slaughter for a higher purpose. In both–there is a letting go. A severing. Be it ties or bonds. Life, hope, or dreams. Sacrifice in either action, is the result of vision. Whether the vision is linked to faith, purpose, ambition, or desire… sacrifice follows.

I wish I had more to share. More to thrill, empower, and scramble the egg of a brain we’ve been blessed with.

But the words and roads end there, as the declaration begins.
