Summary
With a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations and a minor in graphic design from Florida A&M University (FAMU), as well as six years of professional experience and 15 years of academic and social acumen, Antorris possess the necessary skills and expertise to succeed in communications and program leadership.
Currently, he is the Citywide HR Communications and Media Relations Manager for the City of Seattle, where he leads citywide internal human resources communications while applying city values and an equitable race and social justice lens to strategic communication implementation.
- Additionally, he serves as the media public disclosure officer, language access liaison, and program manager for the department’s executive and digital engagement communications.
- In this role, he has successfully supported senior leadership through high-level communication advising and change management, pitched, and responded to media inquiries, collaborated cross-functionally to implement crisis communication, developed communication processes and protocols, and coached and trained employees on aligning with brand management.
Before his current role, Antorris worked as a marketing coordinator at FAMU, where he helped connect marketing sales and promotions for a multi-million-dollar sales-generating department with corporate partners such as Pepsi Refreshment Services, Barnes & Noble College, Wells Fargo, Ricoh, and Metz Culinary Management.
- He also worked at Palm Tran, using his graphic communication, design, and video editing skills to manage and complete projects efficiently while supporting all departments and agency needs.
- In both positions, Antorris leveraged my skills to complement written deliverables and increase publicity and action on social media platforms.
- At FAMU and Palm Tran, Antorris oversaw and mentored graphic design interns, guiding design principles, and program management and ensuring their work aligns with the organization’s branding guidelines.
- Specifically, at Palm Tran, he gained experience in crisis communication during Hurricanes and organizing public engagement opportunities.
Beyond project management skills and graphic design expertise, Antorris is tech-savvy and has contributed compelling content for publication in several media outlets, including the Famuan, HBCU Digest, Black PR Wire, Tallahassee Now, Mass Transit, the Sun/Lake Okeechobee News, and media responses for the Palm Beach Post and Seattle Times.
- As a current City of Seattle employee, he also has a collaborative working relationship with the communication leaders at the Mayor’s office.
- Across Palm Beach County, his home area, Antorris has established relationships with City government and educational leaders in the Glades area as well as county government officials and the local public transit systems.
As someone who has effectively managed organizational and non-profit communications, partnered with diverse teams, and demonstrated a strong work ethic, he is the one to turn to for managing change, continuous improvement and implementing significant contributions that impact people.
